So head on over and show your support!  I'm also doing a Master of Orion series giveaway on GOG.com here:

http://www.gog.com/forum/general/master_of_orion_giveaway_and_a_kickstarter

So if you want to grab a copy of MoO 1/2 or 3, here's your chance!  You don't have to back the project to participate in the giveaway!

Let's make this project a success!

  3. Hey Brent,
    good luck with the kickstarter.
In your description you avoided any note about AI at all. ;-)
Im still worried if this game will be playable in singleplayer at all.
Maybe some money could go into that direction, getting someone to help with the AI stuff?

    Anyway good luck!

  4. Wow, thanks for all of your support!

Sledge Hammer, I didn't avoid mentioning AI, the kickstarter is focused on gaining funds to purchase art assets for the game. It's a given that 4X games should have AI, which is why I didn't think to mention it. Yes, if the funding exceeds the goal, I would like to hire some outside developers to assist me in developing the game (sounds, AI, etc).

  6. In the FAQ you say "There's a lot of FPS engines, RPG engines, but no 4X engines that I know of.". I have not tried it but Thousand Parsec claims to be framework for building 4X games.

  7. I never heard of Thousand Parsec, so I went and took a look. It looks like it only have galaxy generation, graphics rendering, and fleet movement? I don't see any production, development, technologies, battles, ship designing, etc. I could be wrong though, but it don't look like a complete 4X game.
